The 411 • Beach Day & Bunk Night
Published: July 15, 2026
If there were ever a day that captured the spirit of Camp Manitowa, today was it.
We kicked things off with our weekly trip to Rend Lake Beach, where campers spent the morning soaking up the sunshine, swimming, playing beach volleyball and football, building sandcastles, and simply enjoying time together. Every Beach Day has its own personality, and this week’s was full of energy from start to finish. The excitement was contagious, and it’s been incredible to watch the friendships and camp spirit continue to grow with each passing day.
While Beach Day brings the entire camp together, Wednesday evening is all about something a little more personal: Bunk Night.
One of Camp Manitowa’s most cherished traditions, Bunk Night gives each cabin the opportunity to spend an evening together with their counselors, creating memories that last long after summer ends.
Every cabin celebrated in its own unique way. Some set off on scavenger hunts, others enjoyed games, crafts, spa nights, or creative cabin activities, but every group shared the same goal—spending quality time together as a cabin family.
The evening began with each cabin cooking its own dinner over a campfire before settling into a night full of laughter, connection, and adventure. As the night wound down, many cabins wrapped things up with an outdoor movie or a late-night pool party, making for the perfect ending to one of the week’s biggest highlights.
With Fancy Thursday up next, there’s still plenty of Manitowa magic ahead—but it’s hard to believe we’re already nearing the end of another incredible week.
We’ll see you tomorrow for more highlights from around camp! ☀️💙
